What is Anonymous?
Anonymous is a feature film about a seemingly average man and his battle against addiction. The film deals with addiction – an affliction that comes in so many forms and that everyone is affected by at some point in their lives (either directly or indirectly) and a subject which is not highlighted enough by the arts, considering its power.
HAVE A LOOK AT OUR TEASER TRAILER
How will the film impact people?
We are hoping to open people’s eyes to the realities of a struggle with addiction with a brutally honest portrayal, but also by including a wide range of characters with diverse backgrounds to demonstrate that addiction can tighten it’s grip on anyone.
Why do we want to tell that story?
We want to inspire people and help people with addiction, but we also want to let people know that they are not alone. If we can do all of this AND provide people with a well-crafted, entertaining film at the same time we will have achieved our goal.
Why is it unique?
The film is unique in a number of ways. Firstly the budget of £18,000 is 12% of what is considered the threshold for a “micro-budget” film; remember this a feature film we are making, not a short. To be able to make a feature for such a small amount of money takes a lot of planning, passion and hard work but, with this project, it is entirely possible. The story is set in one location and in real time and there are plans to do things with the way that the film is shot that have never been tried before. Ambitious? Absolutely, but with the people involved in the project already it can certainly be done.

PoetsIn
We’re really excited to be partnering with mental health charity, PoetsIN
Addiction and mental health is strongly featured in our film Anonymous, and so we wanted to find an organisation to partner with, within this important sector.
PoetsIN is an award-winning charity with one simple goal – to help those in need heal, learn, and grow with the power of words delivered through a UK-wide programme of online and in-person creative writing workshops, mentorship programs, and listening programs.
They offer support for mental illness and promote the rehabilitation of people with mental illness and disabilities using creativity, mentorship, and written expression as an outlet for both children and adults.
